Origin story
Hi! I’m Ida Meyer, I’m the sole developer of Tobiano. I was born in Norway but grew up overseas. I started riding at about 10 years old in Indonesia and later moved to Malaysia. I also rode in Norway during holidays. I trained in a number of disciplines; jumping, trail riding, polo, but dressage is my favorite. I got my first horse, a 3 year old arabian mare when I was 16.
Equine Education
I completed my bachelors degree in Equine Sports Science in England, then did my apprenticeship as a riding instructor in London through the British Horse Society. I later gianed a masters degree in Equine Science focusing in equine behavior. I have taken a course in leatherworking and a teachers qualification.

Equine career
I have worked fulltime with horses since I finished my education. I’ve worked at stables in England and in Norway. My current job is as an equine and animal studies teacher at an agricultural college. I teach riding and horse care, but am a qualified dog trainer and teach courses in domestic and exotic animal care as well. Along with a colleague, I wrote all three textbooks for the national Equine and Animal vocational course in Norway.
Game development
Programming was a hobby I picked up during the Covid-19 pandemic. The plan to build a horse game formed very early on. I took online courses and learned iOS programming first, later switching to web programming. My students tried the game in a kind of alpha test. When I learned about Unity restarted the project from scratch to create the game in 3D. Below are some pictures taken throughout the development of Tobiano
